Emmy Nominated, Catherine Ashton’s work has been seen on many feature films and television shows across North America. Catherine spent the early days of her career working as an Image Consultant for various Artists signed on to the CBS Record label. In the early 80’s her work was seen on many Canadian and American Music Videos. In 1987 she and the local fashion community successfully executed the first Fashion Cares Event in Toronto. Kevin Spacey, Hilary Duff, Bruce Willis, and Meg Ryan to name a few, are just some of the famous celebrities she has dressed throughout her career. Ashton built a name for herself by working her way up the wardrobe ranks, starting as assistant costume designer until she was helming the wardrobe department.
Ashton’s small screen credits include design on an impressive list of series and made-for-tv movies such as Covert Affairs, Against The Wall, The National Tree, Beautiful People, Talk To Me (Pilot), Bad Golf My Way, Missing Treasures, Its Only Rock and Roll, Vid Kids, Prince Charming, Hate (Pilot), Interrogation Of Michael Crowe, Soul Food (III), Facts Of Life Reunion, Conviction, Daydream Believers, What Makes A Family, PSI Factor, and Moving of Sophia Myles. As well as the mini-series McCabe Mysteries, and The Grid for which she garnered an Emmy nomination.
Ashton’s feature credits include Casino Jack, Factory Girl, Outlander, 16 Blocks, The Perfect Man, The Prince and Me, Gospel of John, Against The Ropes, Honey, and On The Line.
To many in the Film Industry Ashton is known for having an incredible eye for fashion. It is her eye for fashion and her character driven designs that makes her one of Canada’s most sought after Costume Designers. |
